At least 25 people, including a trade union leader, were injured Tuesday in clashes between workers and law enforcers at Chashara in Narayanganj.

The workers of Fuji Knitwear Sweater Factory allegedly blocked the Chashara roundabout, suspending traffic protesting the closure of their factory.

Clashes broke out when police used truncheons on the agitators, as they did not heed police request to clear the street. Police fired rubber bullets and tear gas canisters to disperse the workers.

Protestors threw rocks and firebombs at police who responded with tear gas in Mexico City on Sunday during a demonstration against President Enrique Pena Nieto’s reform agenda,AFP reports.

Scores of students teamed up with thousands of teachers who have led several protests in the capital in the past two weeks, challenging Pena Nieto’s shake-up of the education system.

The student movement #YoSoy132 said at least six people were detained during a separate demonstration against the president’s controversial plan to open the state-controled energy sector to foreign investment.

Masked protestors clashed with hundreds of riot police, with officers throwing punches at some demonstrators to beat them back, an AFP correspondent said.

The students and teachers joined forces to march toward Congress, where Interior Minister Miguel Angel Osorio Chong will later deliver the government’s first annual report since Pena Nieto took office in December.

A group of women, some breast-feeding their children, protested on Friday in Barcelona in front of the Primark retail shop, demanding a right to breast-feed their babies where they see fit. The protest began on August 10, after Primark’s staff in Spanish city of Valladolid expelled a mother for breast-feeding her baby. Following these events, the association Pro-Breastfeeding and support groups throughout Spain, presented a complaint on behalf of the rights of babies to be fed at any time and place.

The mums were signing a petition, demanding from Spanish and EU institutions not to discriminate breast-feeding mothers.

“It’s not fair that for breast-feeding our babies in a shop, they draw our attention, they make us feel ashamed, embarrassed, they kick us from a shop… It’s as if we are criminals to feed our sons, it is something that doesn’t have much logic”, Laura Benitez Arroyo, one of the protesting mothers said.

Protests were also held in other Primark’s stores throughout Spain including: Valladolid, Murcia, Valencia, Zaragoza, Alicante, Elche, Gran Canaria, Cornellà de Llobregat, Sevilla, Madrid, Torrevieja and Oviedo .

Two groups of workers clashed in a labour accommodation on Saadiyat Island early this week leaving 38 people wounded, sources said.

The law-enforcement authorities controlled the situation and took some people into custody on Tuesday evening.

According to witnesses, the incident happened when a group of Bangladeshi workers allegedly beat up some Pakistani workers around 8pm on Monday after an exchange of heated arguments between two workers of either nationality over the handing over of a key.

Next day, Pakistani workers allegedly ganged up and roughed up Bangladeshi labourers and in the evening both groups again had a fight leaving at least 38 people wounded.

The attack was a result of a long-brewing unease which started a couple of months back when Pakistani workers did not join Bangladeshis in their strike against low wages. The management fired and deported several workers replacing with Pakistanis, according to Farooq Langoov, Welfare Counsellor at the Pakistan Embassy, who met with Pakistani workers and narrated their side of the story to this correspondent.
